Lyons is a town in Wayne County with a population of about 6,000. It's name comes from Lyon, France. It is a about 38 square miles. Its south town line is the border of Ontario County and the Town of Phelps.
Lyons was once known as "The Pepper mint Capital of the World". This is due to extensive essential oil productions.
In Central Park there are water fountains and a bandstand, which is where Peppermint Days other festivals take place. In the summer there is a farmers market that occupies Central Park. This is the oldest farmers market in Wayne County.
